Event Details

BED10: Be2camp Education 2010 (or we may call it ConstructED) is a half-day 'unconference' focused on Web 2.0 and education-related issues for professionals and others interested in the built environment.

It will be held in London at the Ludgate Hill offices of solicitors Maxwell Winward on the afternoon, 12.30 to 5.30pm, of Tuesday 30 November 2010 (thanks to Peter Gourri and Bernie Mitchell).

Places will be limited due to space constraints, but - as always with Be2camp events - we aim to share as much of the content as possible, both live on the day and archived for consumption afterwards. If you have a passion for Web 2.0 and education-related matters and want to participate (not just sit and passively absorb), please register and/or volunteer your contribution (via email).

Initial ideas for content (but you may have better ones, of course!) include:

  • Democratic design - involving users in how education facilities are planned, designed, built and operated
  • Wikis and other Web 2.0 tools to share knowledge
  • Connected environments - monitoring energy use in education
  • Second Life as a training tool

Be2camp is the place for people interested in how the latest web applications and web design techniques (Web 2.0; eg: RSS, blogs, Twitter, Wikis, Google Maps) could help build a better, more sustainable Built Environment - from planning and design through construction to occupation and management of buildings, infrastructure, landscape, etc.
